I’ve decided not to
write about
how you were
and were not there,
how you cared,
but did not care.
I refuse to write about
how you were
a was
and a was not,
a sometimes,
an if, and a maybe
and a never
not ever father
who always is
but is not
a part of me.

Methinks the poem reeks of pain, pain that you thoughtfully revisited over time, wished that ‘he’ would be the analgesic but he wasn’t.
I can link this poem with the other story(the one ’bout your wonderful mum). Is this what i think it is? …and does that make Womb Rain kinda cathartic?
I do not find it in this poem but somewhere between your family pictures on your About Page i think there’s Forgiveness.
You are correct and very insightful : ) Yes, there is much forgiveness. Praise God : )
In a few words, this poem speaks volumes. In a few words, you have spoken what so many have felt, but couldn’t find the words to utter. You speak for many. Forgiveness is enlightening.
Yes, thank God for the ability to forgive : ) Thank you so much for your comment : )
wow nice dear….you are so cute….
Thank you : )I am glad you enjoy my work!
